Vancouver Winter Pride Festival

  • Winter Pride is a collaboration of warm celebrations in Vancouver that aims to support the community throughout the year.
  • The event features a variety of activities such as dance, drag, art, comedy, education, poetry and more, catering to a diverse audience with both indoor and outdoor, ticketed and free, all ages and 19+ events.
  • The event kicks off with the Unicorn Disco on February 18, featuring international and local drag talent, vogue performers, and DJs.
  • Periodt: Black Queer Poetry Slam is an event showcasing black queer poets while Chosen Family Day is a free event that brings together people of all ages to celebrate with their loved ones.
  • The Winter Pride Comedy Extravaganza is an event curated by Comedy Here Often? and it is an opportunity for non-stop laughs.
  • The Wintour is Coming Ball is an event that partners with Van Vogue Jam, it is a Game of Thrones meets Devil Wears Prada clash.
  • The Winter Pride season is an opportunity to build connections and relationships that keep individuals strong and supported.

The organization aims to support: -Individuals who identify as 2SLGBTQAI+ and their allies by:
  • Providing information, recommendations, and support -Offers:
  • Social and educational services addressing sexual and gender diversity
  • -Provides:
  • Daily, weekly, annual, and summer events such as talks, movies, and social gatherings
  • Weekly discussion groups
  • -Serves:
  • All members of the UBC community, including academics, staff, and students
  • -Access to:
  • Gender-affirming supplies such as binders, breastforms, packers, and others at low or no cost.

Where: Vancouver’s West End starting on Robson Street, left on Denman Street, and another left on Beach Avenue. The Parade ends beside the Sunset Beach festival site.

Bring your most colourful costume and get ready for a weekend of parties, parades and gay pride. The Vancouver Pride Parade & Festival draws more than half a million participants and spectators, and it includes street parties, food vendors, movies, family-friendly events and one of the largest gay pride parades in North America.

Free Counselling LGBTQ2
  • The counseling program is a professional, volunteer-based service that provides free short-term counseling.
  • The program provides support for a range of issues that individuals may face in their daily lives.
  • The counsellors work collaboratively with clients, offering a variety of approaches based on their education and experience.
  • The counsellor's role is to facilitate the client's work in a way that respects their values, personal resources, and capacity for self-determination.
  • The skills learned during counseling can help to enrich relationships and become a part of an individual's daily life.​

  • The gym offers designated time for trans, gender diverse, and Two-Spirit individuals, as well as their family and friends.
  • The gym has a universal change room available for all individuals.
  • The fitness center has various equipment and amenities available including:
    • Cardio machines
    • Strength-training machines
    • Free weights
    • Exercise props
    • Stretching area
    • Includes items such as stair climbers, elliptical machines, balance boards and body balls

Bifocus

Bifocus
When: ​  The second Monday of each month
Time:    7:30pm-9pm

Where:  QMUNITY’s Office, located at 610-1033 Davie St.
 
  • Bifocus is a peer-led social and support group for bisexual, bi-questioning, and pansexual individuals and allies to explore and share their experiences.
  • Bifocus offers a community for individuals of all genders to exchange perspectives on bi/pan/questioning issues and experiences in a non-judgmental space.
  • Topics of discussion in the group include:
    • Relationships
    • Oppression such as biphobia, bisexual invisibility, and monosexism
    • Health and mental health
    • Coming out stories and more
    • The goal of the group is to empower people of all backgrounds.

Women on Wheels:  L.T.Q. Night at Our Community Bikes

            the 1st + 3rd Wednesday of every month

Where:  Our Community Bikes  / 2429 Main Street.
 
  • Our Community Bikes, located near Main & Broadway, holds Women on Wheels events twice a month.
  • These events take place after hours, from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
  • They are specifically designed for women, trans, and queer identifying individuals to use the shop.
  • Women on Wheels provides a welcoming space for individuals who may feel uncomfortable in the traditionally male-dominated areas of cycling and mechanics.
  • These events take place on the first and third Wednesday of each month at Our Community Bikes.

Free Bicycle Shop Time for Women, Gender Queer & Trans

When:  Biweekly: the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month
Times:  6:30-8:30pm
Cost:  Free


  • Kickstand invites individuals who identify as women, gender queer and trans* to participate in fun-filled bike mechanics nights.
  • These events take place on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month, between 6:30 and 8:30 pm.
  • The community is working to create a radically inclusive space and specifically aims to welcome those who have not traditionally been a dominant part of the bike industry.
  • The events are facilitated by female or gender variant bike mechanics and volunteers.
  • The goal is to create a safer space where learning, positive vibes and fun happen.
  • During these evenings, shop time is free, providing attendees access to all tools and experienced bike mechanics to answer questions and help fix bikes.
  • Basic bike mechanics workshops will also be provided by mechanics between 7:30 and 8:30, with new topics every week.

Yoga with HiM
HIM (Health Initiative for Men) has teamed up with some very talented yoga instructors to offer sessions on Friday nights.

​When:   Weekly on Fridays
Time:      7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Where:  Scotiabank Dance Centre, 677 Davie Street
Cost:      By donation


  • The group aims to increase flexibility, circulation, and overall health and well-being.
  • The group is easy-going, without attitude and open to men of all levels.
  • Scotia Dance Centre has a lounge available for attendees who arrive early.
  • At the front desk, attendees will be asked to sign in to the building, and information about the studio location and how to find it will be provided.
  • Participants should bring their own yoga mat, towel, and lots of energy.
  • Sessions are free, but donations are accepted to keep the services sustainable.
  • The suggested donation range is $5-$10.


The class starts at 7 sharp and there is no late entry.
