Library Stitch-Up: Creative Sustainability

Do you have old t-shirts, sweatshirts, or sweatpants that you no longer wear? Turn them into reusable face wipes that can replace disposable cotton pads in your bathroom! We will take you through all the steps on how to make these entirely by hand.

  • All skill levels are welcome
  • Fabric, needles, buttons and thread will be supplied
  • Please pre-register for the event
  • Free, all you need is a library card

The Vancouver Public Library hosts adult colouring clubs at various branches around Vancouver. Enjoy the relaxing nature of colouring while socializing with like-minded creatives.

Colouring Club

Knitting and Crocheting

Join other community members and learn how to knit or crochet. Everyone is welcome, regardless of their skill level. Primary materials are provided, but individuals are encouraged to bring their own projects as well. Why knit alone when you can knit with friends. Bring your projects along to this friendly and supportive group.

Queer Reading and Crafts Book Club

Join the queer reading circle and bring your personal craft project of choice to work on while discussing monthly themes, what we have read, and what we are looking forward to reading. Craft ideas include hand sewing, embroidery, colouring, and knitting. 

The intention of this group is to build friendships and community centered around queerness, books, and crafts. Each month features a different theme and related literary works.

The Which Craft Club hosts regular craft evenings that feature a different classic movie and craft each month. All supplies are included!

Which Craft Club

By Hand! A Social Drop-In Group

By Hand! is a group for makers who enjoy doing handwork of any kind (beading, crochet, embroidery, knitting, macramé, quilting, etc.)  The drop-in group is a great opportunity to socialize with other creative individuals with similar interests. 

Group Details:
  • Free weekly drop-in event
  • All skill levels, though no instruction is provided
  • Coffee and tea are also offered
  • Bring a current project or start something new
