Imagining Multisensory Art: Learning from Objects; Literacy and Inclusion
Imagining Multisensory Art is a UBC Connects talk featuring the Vancouver Art Gallery, in collaboration with a group of researchers, artists, thought leaders, and activists. Speakers from a variety of backgrounds will come together to discuss the potential for collaboration among institutions of learning and art can advance accessibility.
Speakers include Georgina Kleege, a blind writer and disability studies scholar, and Carmen Papalia, a nonvisual social practice artist. This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of the conversation. Better Together Training
The Homelessness Services Association of BC is inviting community members—including housed and unhoused residents, business owners, and service providers—to take part in free education and training sessions to better understand issues related to poverty, unsheltered homelessness, and mental health.
This session will provide an introduction to mental health and substance use issues, and how these intersect with homelessness. Some basic helping skills and resources will be included. Serious Play: A Super Radical Game-A-Thon
VPL is hosting a game-a-thon with artists Patrick Blenkarn and Milton Lim, as part of the upcoming PuSh Festival. Patrick and Milton are presenting a custom-made video game that deals with issues of labour, technophobia and political turmoil.

University of Alberta
Indigenous Canada is a 12-lesson online course from the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Native Studies that explores Indigenous histories and contemporary issues in Canada. From an Indigenous perspective, this course explores key issues facing Indigenous peoples today from a historical and critical perspective highlighting national and local Indigenous-settler relations. Topics for the 12 lessons include the fur trade and other exchange relationships, land claims and environmental impacts, legal systems and rights, political conflicts and alliances, Indigenous political activism, and contemporary Indigenous life, art and its expressions.

The Pacific Great Blue Herons have returned to the colony at the Park Board office at 2099 Beach Avenue.
The Hancock Wildlife Foundation has live cams next to eagle nests in Delta, Harrison Hills, White Rock, Surrey, and French Creek. The Foundation teaches about wildlife and conservation, with a focus on bald eagles. By offering live streams of the eagles, they seek to engage the public while fostering appreciation and understanding.
